Even amidst the mayhem caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, MSP is seeing substantial growth in certain key areas.
As one of the country’s leading spring and presswork manufacturers, MSP is constantly looking for new ways to better support our customers through continuous improvement and sustainable engineered solutions. With this in mind, we have recently ordered and taken delivery of an additional EDM (Electro Discharge Machine) to bolster our electrical discharge machining capacity. As MSP continues to expand, we remain committed to purchasing and using the most state-of-the-art equipment in the industry. As a result, we can maintain the highest levels of performance and efficiency with each and every one of the services that we provide to our customers across a range of industries.
The addition of this new EDM machine adds to the five EDM’s already at our factory in Redditch. Electrical discharge machining cuts profiles in often exotic alloys such as Inconel and MP35N. They are incredibly accurate and once set up, don’t require any human intervention. By constantly investing in equipment like this, we can preserve our enviable reputation, not only for quality, but for our ability to deliver flawless engineered solutions every time resulting in industry leading OTIF (On Time In Full).
Investing in the latest technology, like three of the five machines already at MSP, this new acquisition has an SMS system fitted. This alerts us via text if anything goes wrong with the machine. Because of this function we can, and do, run the machines 24/7 for maximum efficiency and to support customer requirements.
MSP has worked in close partnership with local company Warwick Machine Tools who delivered and had the machine installed and producing parts within 48 hours of our order. The quick turn-around for this EDM machine meant we could fulfil urgent customer demand. Having partners with the same passion for their business is vital to MSP and is why we stick with them.
MSP is one of approximately 250 companies owned by Swedish engineering conglomerate Indutrade. One of Indutrade’s core principles is to allow companies to take decisions locally; maintaining and celebrating entrepreneurship at a local level. It is this philosophy that allows MSP and its sister companies to be agile to the needs of their customers and to react quickly when needed.
MSP is a key supplier to the aerospace, defence, oil & gas and medical sectors. Over and above spring and presswork manufacture, when it comes to machining, our engineered solutions include the extensive use of EDM and CNC machining centres.
In addition to ISO9001 and AS9100 we already hold NADCAP accreditations for special processes ‘Heat Treatment’ and ‘Tensile Testing’ and are actively working on adding ‘EDM’.
